You need to work hard but eat healthy that will build your muscles and eventually increase the body mass but one thing above all that you need is to be consistent. Say for example if your body needs 1000 calories you need to intake an extra 1000 calories that means that one need to be increase the intake of food to double or to one and a half as needed or as fast as one need to increase the weight of the body. Eat the food quantity greater in every meal and make it consistent. Larger portion of food intake assures that you are achieving your target of weight gain. Instead of three meals a day that are breakfast, lunch and dinner you should take five meals a day. Introduce two meals in the time interval between the breakfast and lunch and the other between lunch and dinner. Also increase the amount of fluid intake and include milkshakes and sports energy drinks to your life style. Balance diet is very important. If you are not taking the balanced diet instead taking all fats the muscle mass will not build rather all non wanted fat that is injurious to health will keep on building and after gaining it you want to reduce it. So make a chart and eat greater proportions of food but that falls in category of healthy foods and is balanced. Here the balanced means that the food is good combination of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and water. Try to gain slowly instead of gaining at once and then having trouble managing it. Try to gain mass slowly, after some time or a specific time you will stop gaining wait so that is the time that you need to eat more and add more extra calories to your diet.
